About Me

Born and raised halfway across the world in Sydney, Australia, Brendan Lin brings his unique experiences as an Asian-Australian to everything he does, whether it be finding his way into a kooky character as an actor or practising his stand-up comedy with strangers as a bartender. With a background in both theatre (mind the Aussie spelling) and film, Brendan currently studies at Pace University, where he hones his craft as a part of the Bachelor of Fine Arts for Acting in Film and Television program. In Sydney, he was trained as a part of the National Institute of Dramatic Art’s (NIDA) Screen Actors Studio, where he engaged in community theatre, and dabbled in commercials—moving on to college and indie short films in New York. An artist in many forms, Brendan recently ventured into new territory; he directed a short film called Check Nate, which he also wrote, produced, and starred in. Such naive over-ambitiousness, which can only be compared to Macbeth himself, led to Brendan’s downfall, as he swiftly decided to join the ranks of lowly stand-up comics who attempt to hold in their laughter while competing stand-ups perform. On the bright side, he has a penchant for music: he plays the piano and the electric guitar, but do not — under any circumstances — ask him to sing!
